The 2012 Mitsubishi Galant makes an adequate commuter car, but most test drivers say that’s about it. They dislike many things about the Galant, including its outdated design, cheap interior materials, small trunk and archaic automatic transmission. Additionally, the Galant lacks an optional V6, which is available in high-ranking midsize cars like the Ford Fusion and Mazda6.
There are a few things, however, that the Mitsubishi Galant does right. It has one of the longest powertrain warranties in its class, and reviewers say the Galant offers a roomy, comfortable interior, smooth ride and decent acceleration. At the end of the day, however, the Mitsubishi Galant just can’t compete with the rest of the midsize car class. Since it lacks the standard tech features and fuel economy of rivals like the Hyundai Sonata and Volkswagen Passat, reviewers recommend test driving the competition before settling on the Galant.
